People: Advisory Council
The department's Advisory Council is a group of distinguished industrial and academic members of the chemical engineering profession. This body provides valuable advice on the department's status and future prospects, based on periodic reviews of its research and educational programs. The Council convenes typically every two years; during the past decade, meetings took place in 1994, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2006. At such meetings, the Council hears and discusses reports from the Chair, the Director of Graduate Studies, and the Departmental Representative about the status of the department and of its graduate and undergraduate programs. Council members also meet with junior and senior faculty members, as well as graduate and undergraduate student representatives.
